The University of Texas Clock Tower, also known as the Main Building or The Tower, is an iconic building located near the center of the UT campus. It is one of the most recognizable symbols of UT and Austin. The Tower is 304 ft tall and contains 28 floors. The clock mounted at the top of the building has 4 faces, one on each side of the building. Each face is about 14 feet in diameter and is trimmed in gold leaf. The observation deck near the top of the building is open for tours, which is where most of my pictures were taken.

Rueben and Cynthia were in Austin for several days, so we decided to do the tourist bit and take the tour of the UT clock tower.

The evening sun turns downtown Austin orange. The next series of pictures was taken over about a 30 minute time period as the sun set on the city.

As the sun set on the horizon the city turned from orange to blue and buildings began to light up.

The final rays of the sun are hitting the observation deck while most of downtown is already in twilight.

The Tower is lit up at night. Most times the Tower is lit with white light, but other color schemes are used on special occasions, such as following a significant athletic victory.
